Rebtel is the world’s largest VoIP company after Skype who recently entered the UK market. The client wanted to raise awareness of their brand among West African communities in the UK. We were tasked to encourage sign ups and downloads of the apps and push to increase their sales. Rebtel is offering free apps for all major smartphone platforms and tablet users allowing free or cheap international calls over 3G/Wi-Fi, mobile data or using local numbers.


We created 10 week long B2C marketing strategy with “Your Prepaid Sim Has Passed Away” campaign, which was launched in mid November. The campaign included Outdoor, Press, and Outreach mixed with Digital activities targeted at the African communities the UK. Billboards and leaflets were placed in popular hair and beauty salons in London. Engaging experiential and direct handout activities were taking place in different key locations in London.

The brand ambassadors were engaging with consumers in high footfall areas giving them special Rebtel Christmas gifts with 60 minutes free calling time and demonstrating how easy it is to get the app within less than a minute and capturing the data.


200% uplift of the sales within the campaign period and afterwards positive feedback among the target audience and massive exposure:
